    The River of Books

I’ve been fortunate to photograph many projects that exceed in architectural design while enhancing the users experience, but none rarely come close to the Northeast Regional Library in Louisville Kentucky.

From the moment you approach this facility you are moved by the design, how it works with its environment and its connection to the nature around it. The design team from JRA Architects and MSRDesgin did an amazing job creating this facility from the inside out. Playing off the property and natural light while establishing the connection to its natural surrounds. LEAD certifications aside, this community space inspires you to think different and instantly challenges your thoughts on CREATIVITY.

We all know that in most schools our kids lose their ability to be creative. We have been schooled to follow formulas, timelines, charts and history. This belief in a “structured education” is not all bad, but it eliminates the ability for more creativity.  I agree with the brilliant creative minds, like Chase Jarvis, that believe creativity should be at the forefront of education! And ultimately should play a bigger part of life for all humans regardless of what age you are. A bit of a pun here, but check out his book Creative Calling….

Which brings me back to pushing the creative of library design and the NERL Library’s RIVER OF BOOKS. This revolutionary take on cataloging and displaying the books screams of creativity and immediate pulls you in. With this low level and open approach to showcasing the books the library now has access to more natural light and it’s ancillary spaces. These neighboring spaces play off the river creating a truly unique experience for kids and parents. As much as this library has affected me I know it continues to affect thousands of kids and adults yearly. It has also moved many award jury’s too. This project has won every American Institute of Architecture award for Kentucky and Minnesota, regionally and nationally. It has also been honored by the American Library Association and many others. Truly an work f art!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Sometime we forget where we are from! I’ve been blessed to build relationships around the country with my architectural photography, but none more important than those in Ohio and Columbus.

    Home Base

The last fews years have been amazing and even battling through an epidemic the support of several great friends and clients here in Ohio has been humbling. The ability to stay local through last year and still have opportunities in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and other regional cities was a blessing. There are too many people to thank, but if you follow the blog or the Studio page and instagram we try our best to show our appreciation.

THANK YOU to all and I/we looking forward to working together more. PUBLISHED | MARKETER February 2019

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]2018 year was a great year, providing plenty of reasons to be excited for this year.  Although I’ve been an Architectural Photographer in Columbus Ohio for several years now it has not been my sole focus until the last few which prevented me from truly investing in my business.  My approach hasn’t changed and our ability and image quality continues to improve, but now I can get out, connect and help more market through photography!

SMPS has been a big contributor to that growth.  I’ve had the opportunity to meet some amazing clients and friends through the Columbus Chapter.  When asked to be featured in the Marketer I was excited and honored.  This publication has highlight some amazing photographers from across the country and to be in that community is humbling.  I can’t think of a better way to kick off the new year!  Some added fuel to help connect with new clients and friends!!

So thank you to The Journal of The Society For Marketing Professional Services, SMPS Columbus and the publishing staff at SMPS.  I love the way the issue turned out.

2018 Architectural Photography | Second Half

    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Growth & Commitment” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center”][vc_column_text]

Another year in the books and what a great second half!  Full of amazing projects with  travel to Florida, New Hampshire and multiple Midwest cities in Kentucky, Indiana and Pennsylvania. Each different and exciting, but all provided architectural photography opportunities at a high level to grow and build relationships nationally.

Midway through the year I also strengthened my commitment to “our” photography approach. Yes, “our” –  very excited to welcome a full time creative partner, Aaron Asch, to manage processing and help with project photography and videography. Together Aaron and I plan to continue to push our abilities and creativity onsite and in the digital darkroom to provide the best imagery possible.

There are too many people / clients  to thank, but we hope they all know how much we appreciate each opportunity provided and their continuous support. This new year is already off to a great start and we really look forward to working with new clients and all our current friends who make photography so enjoyable. 2018 Architectural Photography | First Half

I really thought I’d be better at keeping up with a monthly blog post. Even a quarterly recap, but NO, here it is September! That said, my goal was always to be a bit more informative, include some insight or obstacles overcame to provide the creative images. Still the goal and plan to work on that as I head into 2019.

For now just an image gallery from projects I’ve been fortunate to photograph across the east coast and midwest.  Please reach out for architectural photography projects locally or nationally!

Bowling Green State University | University Hall

Where to start, I’d say jump right into the image gallery! That said, what an amazing multi level renovation on one of the more historic buildings on Bowling Green State University’s campus. I’ve only seen a few before images, but based on the response of the University staff, discussions with the creative team at BHDP and some feedback from alumni to my image post this was a grand slam in terms of successful renovations. From the reworked exterior entrances, to the grand staircase and to the integrated branding elements the complete design was awesome to photograph. Thanks to the those at BHDP for the opportunity and the hospitality and “help” provided by the BGSU staff. Good things happen when you work together. Enjoy some of the project images below.

More from Cincinnati, Ohio!! It’s exciting to get back to my birth place and start building some business. Thanks to BHDP for another opportunity to photograph The Kenwood Collection and The Tower Offices. While living in Cincinnati I use to drive by this structure and wonder. No more wondering, finally this mix use site is developed! Here are several architectural photographs from inside to outside and ground to air. Enjoy…

  • Messer Construction HQ | BHDP

    Messer Construction HQ | BHDP

It has been a busy end to the summer with plenty of large projects still in the production process. One fresh off the line is my Messer Construction architectural photography portfolio for BHDP Architecture. What a great opportunity to work with two elite brands in the Architecture and Construction world. The new headquarters for Messer, located in Cincinnati, Ohio is beautiful top to bottom. BHDP’s design was phenomenal l and scattered with many elements of Messer’s day to day services that put that special touch on the final presentation. Enjoy…
